Over the years there have been many stars who died at the young age of 27. The four most famous of the club are Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Jim Morrison. They all died within a period of two years. Jones and Morrison died on the same exact day, two years apart. All of these artist died at the prime of their career. There have been many others to join the club but the most recent member is Amy Winehouse. Just like the other deaths, there is mystery in what actually happened. All of the artist have many other things in common as well. They all had a unique style that came with a big following. They all have a history of heavy drug use, depression/mental problems and bad relationships. Amy fits in perfectly.
All of these artist died before we were able to see them lose their edge or become a has been. Its also probable that they never even reached their full potential because they died so young.
Winehouse was supposed to be going on tour in Europe but that was sadly canceled. When i was on the Island of Crete, I walked into a shop where the owner was fashioning fire red hair. I was raving to her about how much I was enjoying her store and was trying things on. After being in the store for a while I heard a song come on and asked if it was Amy. Her facial expression became doleful as she nodded. She went on telling me how she had tickets to fly into Athens, Greece and see Amy Winehouse live. The concert tickets were posted on her wall behind the desk. As I was purchasing my items from her shop, we chatted about how sad it was that Amy had joined the "stupid club," like Kurt Cobain's mother had called it.
Anyone who is a fan of Amy knows that she has been through a hard time. She had addiction and unhealthy relationships for a long period of her life up untill her death. She had been told by many that she was slowly killing her self with all of the poison that she was putting into her body day after day. She was so young and already had Emphysema from all the the smoke inhalation. Even if she had started to clean up and become healthy again, there no way of knowing if it would have even helped because her conditions were so bad.
