Marilyn Monroe

I find it to be a requirement in life to know who this beautiful woman is.

This is the photo that is displayed on the wall in every Applebee's that I have ever stepped foot into.

She was more than just a pretty face. She was wise with her words. She was realistic with her thoughts. And she had a very pretty face.
"If you're gonna be two-faced at least make one of them pretty." - Marilyn Monroe

I don't think it was possible for her to not have a pretty face.
She was known for many things. She was an actress, singer, model, and showgirl. She became a major sex symbol and was one of the first to be. She had what she called a Cinderella story. She was born as Norma Jeane Mortenson, changed to Norma Jeane Baker soon after her birth on June 1, 1926. She grew up in foster homes and came to be what I would say one of the most known people... ever. to me at least.

There was a reason she was a sex symbol.

And there was a reason she got somewhere in life.

Iv grown up with a father that has had a subscription to Play Boy since I can remember. It is a Christmas presant that my Grandpa (moms dad) has been giving him and my two uncles for years. Having a subscription for that many years, you can imagine how many are laying around my house. Now he says "there are good articles," and I am sure that they are.. but I also discovered the naked ladies in the middle.. and all over. Because I grew up with them around I never found it strange. And when my brother and I started to get older, my dad would go less and less out of his way to hide them. It is not like they are showing anything that I was never going to discover. They are pictures of the female body. They are all different in so many ways, But at the same time they are the same. When I first looked at these photos I was in elementary school and I was amazed at what I was seeing. It was beautiful but I had never yet imagined that women would ever expose them selves like that. Its human nature to be curious about others and I am not ashamed of it. According to this quote, "The body is meant to be seen, not all covered up," she wasn't ashamed either.

Shes absolutely spectacular. It saddens me that could not live when she did. What also saddens me is that the life she did live, ended so shortly. She was only 36 years old when she was found dead in her California home. Her autopsy confirmed that the cause of death was "acute barbiturate poisoning." They recorded her death as a "probable suicide," but there are many conspiracy theories that say otherwise.

"We should all start living before we get too old. Fear is stupid. So are regrets." With this being one of Marilyn's quotes, I find it hard to believe that she ended her own life. But then again, she was not living the average life and never had.

Prison Break

I started watching Prison Break this week and by the first episode I knew that I was hooked, but by the third, there was no turning back. It doesn't hurt that the main character is supper sexy. Actually, were getting married. I already told my parents when I texted them about the problems I was having with Netflix, and because of the problems I was not able to spend time with him.

This show is nothing I have ever seen before. It is a story about one brother who purposefully put him self into prison to break him and his brother out. You get to know how things work in prison, you see that the guards are just as bad as the prisoners, only they have handcuffs and the prisoners wear them. Being in prison, you can get away with just as many things as you can in the real world. There is always the possibility of getting caught, but it is possible to get away with things like murder and doing drugs. You can make friends in there with other inmates and you can bribe the guards to help you out. But on the opposite end, you can make enemy's very easily and that never turns out well. If a fight breaks out, the guards are not always right there, meaning you are going get yo ass beat for a while until they do break it up. You can get blamed for things that you did not do and get severely punished no matter how much you beg and plead your innocence. If they have questions that can not be answered, you will be punished. If you go against the guards, they have the power to put you into a cell with.. well a scary cell mate. When you hang a sheet up, it means that you and your cell mate are getting "friendly," but if that sheet is down and one wants to be more friendly than the other, there really isn't anything that the guards can do and also they don't really care.

Something that I find very interesting about prison life is how if you are married, you can have you spouse come and have a conjugal visit. This is where they can spend time together privately and engage in sexual intercourse if they wish. They allow these to hopefully give incentive to the prisoner to follow the rules in order to serve their time and get back into the real world with their family's or significant other. In the show, Michael the main character, his roommate is allowed these visits with his girl friend because they are to be married. When something goes wrong with the escape plan, he has to go out of his way to be where he is not supposed to after hours. He begged Micheal not to make him do it because he knows that if he is caught, his visits will be gone and he might lose his girl because of it. It turned out that he did get caught and they thought that he was trying to escape. If you are caught in the act of trying to escape, you get 10 years added onto you bid. Well of course he was caught and his conjugal visits were taken away, and just like he thought, he girl friend started having second thoughts about staying with him. Although I find it strange that prisons allow this type of visiting, I do understand why they do it. They keep the prisoners eye on the target, which is serving as less time as possible so that they can get back to their lives before the were convicted.
 
There are many things that I am sure know one can understand that happen behind prison walls, but Prison Break gives you a pretty good idea of how broken the system is and at the same time functional.

If you made a mistake and were sent to prison, besides conjugal visits, what would be a good incentive for you to behave and fallow the rules so that you can return to freedom?

The Man Who Killed Christmas

no not the Grinch who stole Christmas, but I was just watching that on ABC family!

My fatha was just talking with his dad the other day (my grandpa) and they were talking about how the end of the semester was coming and that we should get together to celebrate Christmas. He was suggesting that we get together on the Sunday of the 18th and my dad explained to him that I would not be home for Winter Break yet. my grandpa said "Winter break, back in 19 what ever, I was on the team that changed the name from Christmas break to winter break." my dad replied,"you were the one who killed Christmas?"

When my dad told me this story I broke out into laughter. my Grandpa is not the type to joke with when he is telling a serious story, especially when it is about him.

In most family's, grandparents are named with their first names: Grandma Joanie, Grandpa Dick.
But with my dads dad, the day I was born he said, she can call me Grandpa Black.

When I was about 12 or so my Grandpa "Black" was visiting and one of my friends was over hanging out with me. When my Grandpa was leaving she asked me " so whats his name?" and I told her it was Bob cause that's what I thought she was asking. Hes walking out the front door and she yells "bye Grandpa Bob!!"  my entire family burst out laughing. we had never heard that before. His name was Grandpa Black. He turned around and had a look on his face like he was offended by the name, but we didn't care, hes been Grandpa Bob ever since. And now hes the man who killed Christmas.

well... iv been MIA according to this blog since... well, my last post. I now have many blog post to create, like right now. Considering I have to make a few portfolio pages by Thursday night, I need to have things on my blog to put into my portfolio!

I deeply regret thinking "oh man, I should really look at that blog of mine.." and then not.. looking at it, or posting anything.

I also made one portfolio page of a past post and of course mista Livesey opened it up in front of the entire class and mocked me for it. (I will say that it was a vEry rough draft, but still yo)

I am a freshman in college this year and it is coming to the end of my first semester. I had finals when I was in high school but there are very different things. And even if you have been doing well in all of your classes the whole semester, the last few weeks is the worst time to slack. The largest projects are normally due at the end and if you have something that you were supposed to be doing weekly throughout the semester and did... well those last few weeks is the time to do something about it. Over break I am going to able to sleep in, party when ever, and not have to worry about school. But it is also the perfect time to think about what I did well during the past semester and what I need to improve on for the coming semester.

Its about time Winter break came along, but from the looks of the weather out side and the visual grass.. it looks to me like spring is creeping already!- I WANT THE SNOW!
